The finest and finest courtyard of the Durbar Square having the masterpiece of stone wooden crafts in Nepal. An icon of Kaliyadaman (suppression of a demon Kaliya) by lord Krishna is skillfully carved out from a single piece of big boulder. This is an oldest icon in the palace complex dated to be of 7/8th century A.D. Another attraction is the courtyard itself embellished with the finest Hiti carved out in gilded metal. This is the main courtyards of the Malla Royal residence.
